Thomas McArthur:

CLASS OF 1969
Westhampton beach, NY
Tampa, FL

Thomas's Story

I was an Air Force dependent (Brat), I attended Westhampton Beach HS for my senior year only. I transferred from Kaiserslautern American HS (K-Town Red Raiders, Germany). My father was stationed at Suffolk County Air Force Base for only a year, home to the F101 VooDoo. For those of you that I was fortunate to have meet, in my senior year, thank-you for making the year special for me. My father had orders for Vietnam 69-70. My mother and I drove down to Florida in July of 69 and I began attending St. Petersburg JR College in the fall of 69. As an AF Brat it's hard to lay down roots, and I lost touch with everyone from Westhampton. Tampa is my home as that is where my father retired when he came back from Vietnam. I am an only child, so I stayed with my mother until I went into the Air Force in April of 70. I haven't had any conversations with people from our class, except for one person. I assume most of us are retired at this point in our lives, so this is a quick life bio. Married 35 years, daughter 31, Nurse Practitioner, son 26 working and attending school. BS in Management - University of South Florida, Tampa FL MBA - NOVA Southeastern University, Ft Lauderdale FL Retired from GTE/Verizon Data Services 25 Years, Corporate Accounting Retired from USAF 33 Years, Chief Master Sergeant Retired from HQ USSOCOM as a government civilian (GS) 22 Years. own at Walt Disney World and experienced it ("frugal" metaphor). I hope there is going to be a 55th-year reunion, would enjoy seeing and sharing stories with you. Linda my wife, is a Speech Pathologist and recently retired from St Joseph's Hospital in Tampa. We live in Odessa Florida with our Bouvier des Flandres, Jolene, (Belgium herding dog). Memorial Day 2023 I rode one of my steel horses to the Space Coast, Melbourne Fl for Florida's Rolling Thunder ride for POW/MIA's. I am fortunate to own a 2003 100th anniversary Harley Davidson (HD) Fatboy and a 2007 HD Fatboy. My other J-O-B is that I volunteer at the USO at Tampa International Airport. In my life I have ran across so many people that attended all four years of high school at the same school. They live in the same place, maybe going away to college then returning and those friendships flourish for a lifetime. For me as the years have gone by and for those of you that signed my yearbook you kept my memories alive of our friendships from that time, Thank-you. If you read this, I have a note in my personal conversation section of Classmates for all of you from the great Class of 1969 concerning our yearbook, check it out. We are in our 55th year since graduation, would be nice if we could put something together. I'm just saying......It would be nice if we could get a little more communication going. Remember our senior class day what Mickey had to say, think of Mickey's voice "we have a really big show for you today boys and girls, Soooo let's get started.....".
