Thomas's Story
I don't know how many of you remember me, but I was the short, shy, (Good-looking?) quiet boy that rode the school bus from the country (Fancy Bluff) At Risley, I was generally with Larry Butler,Bubba Brogsdale and Charles Hopkins. I finished as #13 in our class of 120. When I graduated, I ad Larry went to Morehouse, and after that year I joined the Marine Corps.
I moved back to Brunswick in 1991, after a divorce (1988) from Sarah Ford (class of 61). During our 25 year marriage we had three boys and as a couple spent 22 years in the Marine Corps(that's why she now gets 50%of my retirement from the military). I have two grands 23 and 11. The 23 year old graduated (2009) from the Merchant Marine Academy in Kingspoint, NY. Since Moving back to Brunswick, I taught in the school system (2yrs) Ga. Dept. of Labor (12yrs), Dept of Family and Children Services (4yrs) Home Depot (2yrs), Coastal Community College (1yr), and now work for Comcast Cable Co. No I am not ready nor planning to retire because for the first time in my life I have employment I love...truly love as a job. I remarried in 2007 to a lady from Augusta, GA. Since high school and the military, I have attained an AAS in Industrial Engineering, an AS...Expand for more
in Liberal Arts, and a BS In Liberal Science. I attend church at First African Baptist (Fancy Bluff) where I am a Deacon, Sunday School Supt, Adult Teacher, and involvement in numerous other ministries. Additionally I hold other offices in the Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Association and other secular and fraternal organizations. The info that was provided to build a profile from does not provide enough variety to complete my proper profile. Physically, my hair has gotten grayer (whose hasn't) but I am proud to brag that I take no Meds, all vitals are good and have gained 6 lbs since graduation (148, 154). I (10 Jan 2009) stopped smoking cigars which I had smoked for 41 years, but I still have my daily shot of brandy and a beer. Throughout all my religious involvement, I am no saint and don't pretend to be-I don't pretend to be something I am not. I love to debate almost any topic and will often take the position of "Devil's Advocate" just to have a lively conversation so that I may learn more about the person to whom I am talking. I have a small ranch house on 1 acre in Fancy Bluff with fruit and other trees on the property and love to sit outside and enjoy the scenery (hate winter). Will add more later
