Thomas's Story
Life
When I left Fontana, I moved to the Phoenix area, for about 6 months, and just hung out. I then moved back home, to my parents house, for about a year. However, they had moved to Carlsbad, N.M., by then. So, home wasn't home. In the summer of 1968, I met a great girl, from Enid, Oklahoma, and later that year, married her. I was just 17, and she was just 16. After about a year of working in the oil field, and other labor intensive jobs, we both went back to school and graduated. In our late 20's we both started college. It was really rough, working full time, and going to school. After 2 years, I quit, but my wife went on to get her degree in nursing. I have worked as an auto mechanic, for 2 years; a machinist, for 6 years; and owned my own electronics repair business, for about 20 years. w been married, to the same great lady, for 40 yrs. We have 6 children, and 16 grand children. I love cats, so we have 3 of them. My wife, Patricia, loves dogs, so we have 4 of them. We live on a small acreage in Oklahoma, in the same area as all of our children and grand children. I also pastor a church, which my wife and I pioneered.
I have been active in the ministry since I was 16. This is the 3rd church we have pastored. My wife is a nurse manager, and works at one of the hospitals, here. Which is good, because both of us have had health issues, in the last 5 years. We have both had kidney cancer, and lost a kidney. She, just this year, had a brain tumor, which, thank God, was not cancer. I spent some time at the Mayo Clinic, this year, and have on going health issues. We both realize that life is too short not to smell the roses along the way. Would love to make contact with some of my old friends.
