Thomas's Story

Life I had accepted the Lord as my personal Savior when about 5. Went to church through high school but was not grounded in the Bible. After high school I went to college and worked at Disneyland. In 1966 Cheri Hanscome, a friend who had been asking questions about the Bible in the employee area at Disneyland, was killed in an auto accident. At that point I rededicated my life to the Lord. I attended Biola college and then worked for a year with Friends of Mexico, a mission outside of Monterrey. At that time I was drafted and attended NCO school in the Army. Went to Vietnam and got to lead a number of men to Christ and also got to pass out over 1500 tracts in Vietnamese. I came home and attended Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College. I met my future wife there (Kathy Merrill from Norwalk, CA). Held various youth pastor positions and Pastored in Rowland Heights then went on staff at North Valley Baptist Church ...Expand for more
in Redding, CA for 20 years. In 1974 while there I broke my neck at a youth camp. It was a total hangman's break - so came very close to being with the Lord. Resigned NVBC in 2000 and did some Biblical Marriage Seminars for the Army while also helping a church in Burney, CA. In December we started a church in Anderson, CA which is outside of Redding (Heritage Baptist Church). Kathy and I have 8 children - the youngest died in birth. Our oldest son, Tom, is a missionary to the Apaches with the Regeneration Reservation (a ministry started by Evangelist Lester Roloff). Two of my sons were in the military. In looking back over my life I am so thankful for God's mercies. My happiest years have been serving the Lord. It is such a blessing to not only see people get saved, but also to see lives changed that had no hope. For this I am truly thankful. Please feel free to contact us as we would love to be in contact.

This morning as I made coffee I started to think- the Torani’s Vanilla coffee was a gift from my daughter Deborah, and the John Wayne mug was a gift from my daughter Susanna - two virtuous daughters - what a blessed man I a
