Tim's Story
After doing the college thing, I looked around at careers and thought why not continue doing something you are passionate about. So that's what I did. I was a professor at UC Davis for a lifetime and then thought it was time for a change. So I retired one day about 4 years ago, caught a flight the next day, with my wife and one of our "children," and took a new job at Massey University in New Zealand. One day I will look into this retirement gig but having too much fun right now.
On a more personal note, I have been happily married to Patricia for 30 years. We celebrated our anniversary on Rarotonga (in the Cook Islands), which used to be a dominion of New Zealand but is now independent, except all Cook Island citizens are also kiwi citizens, which they are especially proud of when the conversation turns to the All Blacks. ave 3 grown (finally) "children," who refer to their 2nd home as the theatre (musical not cinema). Hence all with a strong acting and performing background they have all continued their artsy focus. Lindsay (conflict resolution and directing major) is still working on breaking into the business full time (directing and writing for now), Mark got a degree in software engineering and he and his partner are traveling the world teaching dance (Lindy hop, blues and fusion mainly), while Erin (sociology) has found her dream job as a child life specialist at Shriner's hospital in Sacramento.
In the meantime, Patricia gave up her job (gardening coach) to follow me to NZ and continue her passion here. Outside of work, and the frequent travel to places I never thought I would be (in peace time), I chase the illusive brown trout and little white ball around the countryside.
Hoping to return to the 50th reunion but not sure where I may be at the time.
