Tim's Story
In 1976-77 I attended Rolling Meadows Public School in Burlington, Ontario. I lived on Faversham Avenue, near the Tyandaga Golf Course. During this time I had a great interest in music and began playing the guitar, bass guitar and then electric guitar.
In 1978 I attended M.M. Robinson High School. This was my shy phase :) Got together regularly with my good buddy Rick. We played a lot of Rush, some Led Zeppelin and other popular songs of the late sixties and seventies. We made the house rock back and forth while my parents were out. Played at a few house parties and later performed with various drummers. Had some good times.
My final year at MM was unfortunately 1980 when I completed grade 11. As my father was preparing for retirement, we sold the house in Burlington and moved to the mountain in Hamilton. This made things more manageable for my parents as they would soon retire from teaching, a year later. I lived there, with my parents (Don and Ruth and brother Paul) while completing High School(grade 12) at Barton Secondary High School. I missed my life in Burlington. But all was ok. endence a year later when my father retired from teaching at Orchard Park Secondary School in Stoney Creek.
I then moved to Rexdale, Ontario (Toronto) and attended Humber College and completed a diploma course in Electronics Technology. I began working for Transport Canada and later moved to Ottawa, Ontario where I am now married with two kids (Jonathan and Nicholas) and work at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (Federal Government). Ottawa is the perfect place to live for me. I am 2hrs from the cottage at Round Lake near Pembroke and enjoy skiing, close by in the Gatineau's and Laurentien region. I have travelled all the continents of the world (excluding Ant-Artica and the North Pole). I love working in the field of IT, love my job and wouldn't change my career for the world.
Looking back I miss some of the opportunities I could have had during my childhood, growing up in Burlington, although I really enjoyed attending M.M. Robinson, booting around the hydro fields on my motocross bike and the many friends that I had growing up.
Don't hesitate to contact me.
Cheers,
Tim Erskine
