Tim's Story
School
I went to Jr High at Landrum and watched the fights every morning. Played football with the Dad's Club YMCA. After Jr. high, I chose to go to different schools: Central Christian and then due to friends, Northbrook for awhile. I also went to the Career Center and took industrial media in 11th grade. Eventually, I returned to Spring Branch High school.
I concentrated more on working at Gerland's Food Fair on Long Point and having fun with friends and co-workers after work than I did on school. We spent a lot of time...Expand for more
in parking lots, at parties, and at the fabulous Thunderbird Drive-In. Harry Green and I drank a lot of Lone Star beer, double-dated, and even dated some of the same girls. I miss the comfortable feeling that Spring Branch once had, the slower pace, and the bear prints on the streets.
I moved to East Texas in August '79. I have lived in many different places and returned to this area in 1994. I have a BA in History and should have finished my masters. I regret that I lost contact with everyone I knew in Spring Branch.
