Tim's Story
January 2023
I started attending Lane Tech in 1956, studying Architectural Engineering until I quit school after my Junior year in 1959. Got a little bored with it all. I wish I could remember those who I became close to during my school years but unfortunately, it's all a blur.
During those years I worked as a vendor selling popcorn at both Wrigley Field and Comiskey Park. Made pretty good money for a young punk.
Two days after my 17th birthday on Sept 18th, I began a 20 year tour with the Marine Corps. Started out as a high speed Radio Telegraph Operator then, after 8 years, switched to Intelligence as an Interrogation/Translation Specialist, fluent in Chinese Mandarin, Vietnamese and Japanese. Now I'm lucky to remember how to order fried rice.

g in 1979, I moved to Hodges, South Carolina and started a sole proprietorship, designing and making children's wooden toys. Sold my product at craft shows and wholesale to various businesses throughout the southern states. During the early 1990s, I became knowledgeable with computing and started another business tutoring and helping individuals and businesses to set up computer systems. Both endeavors were very lucrative.
I've been married 4 times, one daughter, and have lived in North Augusta, SC, Ocala, Fl, Beech Island, SC, and presently, hopefully until the end, in Aiken, SC.
Right now I'm 80 years old, enjoying life as best as I can with my wife, my sweet puppy, Snoopy, and accept whatever comes my way.
Wishing all who drop by happy days and long lives.
