Okay, here we go....... After leaving High School, my dad and I started a paralegal business, which I stuck with for 15 years, then sold the business to my brother. Shortly after my dad's death in 1994, my mother and I moved to Northeast Tennessee, where I lived since late 1995. Upon moving to Tennessee, I became a restaurant chef. Cooking has been the only serious hobby I've had since my kid-days, and I wanted to find out if I had enough game to do it for a living. I did, and had a blast at it! In the summer of 2006, I began to get very sick, very suddenly. I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, advanced emphysema, COPD, rheumatoid arthritis, congestive heart failure, severe depressive disorder and anxiety. I've not been able to work since October of 2006. My mother, who had been in very poor health since I was very small, was living with me, and I was her primary caregiver...until I became so sick I couldn't take care of her at home. She had to go to a nursing home, and died quite suddenly of a massive stroke five months later. During those 5 months, I had been living on her Social Security disability, and of course, when she died, the money was cut off. As a result of having no income, I lost my house (which I was buying), most of what was in it, and was on the ragged edge of being homeless. Thanks to God, and two very dear friends of mine, Maurice and Barbara Duval, they gave me and my cat, Miss Bibbs, a place to stay in their home, and we were there from May 4th, 2007, until October 19th, 2009. These days, as my health continues to slowly fail, I have become an ordained minister and online activist, and spend most of my time at Care2.com, which is a social-networking website with over 13 million members.
