Tim's Story
Tim is from Seattle, Washington. Tim's schools after High School included Pacific Lutheran Univ (2 years) Drafted in 1966 (very low # - I am so Lucky??) Decided to Join the Marine Corp = Boot Camp in Jan 1967....I had a MOS 0341 Motarman with orders for Vietnam in June 1970. BUT I got Lucky, an Officer noted that I played pretty good football and Held my Vietnam orders up for 3 months allowing my team to compete for Camp Pendleton Base Championship (we lost) But I won because that same Officer/Coach nominated me for OCS (Officer Candidate School) in Quantico.Virginia. In Sept, 1968 I finally got my orders for Vietnam, this time as a 2nd Lt Combat Engineer Officer. I spent the next 20 months in Vietnam, eventually b...Expand for more
ecoming a Company Commander in 9th Engineers. Left the Marine Corp in Jan 1971 as a Captain, but did spend another 18 months as a Reserve Officer as I went back for more schooling. I joined my father in 1973 in the Bowling Business, and presently still own and operate our 6th Bowling Center located in Centralia Wa. with my younger brother Steve. I married a wonderful young lady (Susan) in 1980. producing 3 great kids (2 are graduating from UW this June.....At age 69 years young, I work everyday, enjoy life to the fullest, vacation in Mexico with my entire family, and can honestly say, I am the luckiest guy in the world.
