Tim's Story

Life B.S. Auburn University 1994; Masters from Auburn University 1997; Employed as a teacher in the Cobb County Ga School district for the last 9 years. Married for 5 years to the former Trellys Pearce of Columbus Ga (Columbus HS 1988; Univ. of Georgia 1993). I am the proud father of 3 litttle boys. Our Oldest are 3 year old fraternal twin boys- James and Pearce. They keep us extremely busy! Our third son Lee was born in June of 2007 and is my Mini me. School High School for me was a wild ride. It started out totally normal, but took a difficult turn over Christmas break my freshman year. I woke up on New Years Eve to find that my father had just passed away of a Heart Attack at the age of 51. I was devastated at a time when I needed his guidance the most. I spent the next 3 and a half years coping and partying way too much. I had some great friends who kept me just grounded enough to keep from doing anything too stupid like getting myself killed. The teacher that inspired me the most was Jane Mount. She got more work out of me than anyone else simply because she wouldn't accept less than the best. ame in the Physiology lab table? I couldn't deny or weasel my way out of that one. It was my first and last name. Dumb! Never let it be said that I didn't leave my mark at OHS. It's still there. My fondest memories in HS were Campus Life and the FUMC youth group. Hay rides, Bonfires, scvenger hunts, the lake, and an awesome trip to New Smyrna Beach. Sleeping in Mr. Shirley's US History class comes in a close second. Arrrrrgh the monotone is still ringing in my ears. If I had it all to do over again I would have been nicer to everyone. I know my clowning around got annoying to some of you at times. Also, I would have made a clear choice between Football and band. I could have probably been great at one instead of pretty good at both. I still have no idea which I would have chosen. Being a teacher has been a very rewarding career for me. The most rewarding part isn't knowing that my students have mastered skills, but rather being the guiding force that helps them to become a better person. You know, the stuff that can't be measured on a standardized test. I often find myself reflecting back on my life as a student as I deal with my own students. I don't tell too many stories though! ;)
