Timothy's Story
Too much to tell, but feel free to drop me a line if you really wanna know (I'd rather hear yours, though)!!!
OK, so let's be quick, I'm sure it's not as fun as your story but here are the highlights:
Started working at the planetarium in '87; been there ever since(see photo)!
Early 20's and staying on the right side of maleficence ;)
I spent two summers ( 1990 & 1993) in the Colorado Plateau (Grand Canyon/Arches NP area), nearly met the end there...
I spent a few years working on the post-grad in Geology at UMass Amherst...
More slightly maleficent activity there... ;)
Came home and started working a real job...
April 1998: Got married... [there goes the maleficence :( ]
2003: Daughter #1 was born... [now who's maleficent?]
Went back to school for an MBA at Canisius...
Produced my first short film with my studio partner (who did the writing thank God)... won third place in a regional film festival, too!
2007: Published in an encyclopedia for astronomy...
Daughter #2 was born...
Working on 2 other screenplays...
Still entertaining the public at the planetarium (fergusonplanetarium {dot} net)... very busy and working on getting a radio gig.
Led the database for the gang in the Urology Dept.
2009: Daughter #3 (Good Lord!)
Finished up my second year t...Expand for more
eaching at Bryant & Stratton.
The planetarium paid tribute to Challenger Jan. 28, 2011, 25 years . Do you remember what you were doing that day? Can't forget cleaning the snowy mess on that sunny day and then the announcement from my brother. Amazing how everyone remembered where they were, who they were with, what they were doing.
On to pathology/ back to thoracic now... :)
Life in general? When you leave a friend, never say goodbye. Treat them like you'll never see them again after midnight, and the next time greet them as you did when you first met them.
I've already seen too many cases when people I really care about have dealt/are dealing with a near-fatal illness, or tragic accident. Sadness aside, key on the good times!
The planetarium is likely closing near the end of 2012, but for the good! We get a bigger, state-of-the-art in a few years! In the meantime, we'll probably be hitting the road, community education, etc.
Like I said, I could do better, but you'd be a pile of dust and ash by the time you got through it, and I'm not going to play Robert Hays' character of Striker here (you figure out the movie reference), thanks Dr. Rumack!
This thing says I have 17,184, no 17,170, wait, 17,156... AHHHH! Maybe I'll fill it up...
Ciao for now!
