Timothy's Story
A 1974 graduate of Eureka High School, I moved from Missouri to Lookout Mountain, Georgia, where I attended Covenant College, a small Presbyterian liberal arts college, graduating in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts in biblical studies and a minor in music. There I met my now-ex-wife, who was from Baltimore, Maryland; we had four children, son and three daughters, who (as of calendar year 2013) range in age from 32 to 16. After college, I took jobs in Maryland and Pennsylvania in the graphic arts field (screen printing production and design, offset printing), transitioning to publishing when reunited with my fellow Covenant alum, Bob DeMoss, Jr. in Pittsburgh, producing the publication Teen Vision. After taking graduate courses in Publications Design for a year-and-a-half at the University of Baltimore, I ended up working together with Bob again in California in 1990, launching Focus on the Familyâs media commentary publication Parental Guidance, now known as Plugged In (pluggedin.com). Moving with Focus staffers to Colorado Springs in late 1991 and leaving Focus not quite a year later, I took editing, writing and designing positions with Cook Communications and the Internatio...Expand for more
nal Bible Society (now called Biblica), then as an advertising rep with the Colorado Springs Business Journal, in the latter part of the 1990s. At the turn of the decade, my marriage split and I became a single dad to two teen daughters in Colorado, with my son also returning to the area to follow in his dad's footsteps as a designer/photographer with Focus on the Family. The older three all married in Colorado, the older two, daughter and son, calling Colorado Springs home, while the middle daughter moved away to Hawaii and Arizona. My youngest daughter is a gifted high school student, living with her mom in Maryland. In 2004 I left publishing to become involved with the office technology field, serving up to the present as an office equipment delivery and installation specialist and warehousing manager. As an avocation, I also have pursued a semi-professional career in music performance, serving as accompanist and musical collaborator for Christian folk-pop artist Stephanie Pauline for about the past eight years, playing charitable concerts and folk-bluegrass venues and appearing alongside artists like Bebo Norman, Leigh Nash (Sixpence None the Richer) and Nichole Nordeman.
