Tim retired from the NCARNG in Jan 2009 after 22 years in the OKARNG, US ARMY, USMC, and the NCARNG. His jobs included Infantryman, Indirectfire Specialist, Motor Transport Driver, Combat Medical NCO. While in the service he seen several different countries to include Korea, Phillipines, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Iraq (twice), Kuwait, and Qatar. Some of his awards include the Combat Medics Badge for service in Iraq. Several Humanitarian Service Awards for hurricane duty in the 1990's The Global War on Terrorism Service Award and GWOT Expeditionary Award for deployment to Iraq...Expand for more
in 2004 and the Iraqi Campaign Medal for deployment to Iraq in 2005-2006, When He retired as an E-5 Sergeant in the Medical Exam Unit In NCARNG STARC at Camp Butner, NC as a Medical NCO Supervisor.
Some of the people I have known over the years, have been positive influences on me.to mold myself as a leader in the military, I would take the best of all of the people appointed over me. Then take the influences from the bad NCO's and try to remind myself not to do these things. Take all of these things and mold them into the type of NCO that I would like to represent. I would like to think that I accomplished these goals. I feel that I left at least one new NCO with values to carry on and train the next senior people coming up thru the ranks to do the RIGHT thing when it comes to treating troops with respect and to do it right.
