Timothy's Story
Following graduation from Sabreeze I was offered a partial swimming scholarship to Tulane and University of Georgia. The offers weren't enough to make up the difference between out of state tuition so I turned them down and walked on the swim team at Florida State where they ended up awarding me a swimming scholarship my first semster. I swam at FSU for two years then decided I was not the next Mark Spitz so I gave up my scholarship my junior year in order to concentrate on my studies (and parties). I graduated from FSU in 1976 with a BS degree in Political Science. In 1977 I returned to FSU and earned my MS degree in Political Science while working part time for the Florida Attorney General's Office. I then worked for two years in Tampa as a Legislative Aide to a State Representative from Tampa. In 1980 I attended law school at Stetson College of Law where I obtained my JD degree in law in 1982. I then returned to Tampa and have practiced law here in Tampa...Expand for more
ever since. My law practice is primarily in real estate development. I have had the privilege of representing several large land owners, real estate developers and home builders. I am a divorced, but now happily remarried and a proud father of two children (boy and girl), one a graduate of UF and the other a graduate of UCF. Up through my mid-50's I competed in triathlons throughout the State. In 2012 I competed in the 1st Annual Tomoka Triathlon and had a blast swimming in the Halifax River, cycling part of the Tomoka Loop, and running over the Granada Bridge. It brought back a lot of old memories!
In my free time now I do a lot of kayaking, cycling and fishing. I am also an avid gardener and our lakeside yard in Tampa is a virtual tropical jungle of fruits and nuts in addition to my numerous raised bed gardens where I grow seasonal vegetables.
We recently purchased an RV and look forward to some extended trips out West when my wife and I retire in 2024.
