Tina's Story
Life
My husband and I just got back from dropping off our youngest at college!! We are having difficulty yet fun about being empty nesters in our early 40's. Our oldest daugher lives in Texas and works at the Dallas Medical Center in the pediatric burn unit. She counsels them in how to deal with life now because most of them have been burned so badly that they are disfigured in some way. I don't now how she does it but she loves it. She says its difficult but the children and families are so awesome and grateful.
Our middle daugher is a junior in college. She is an excellent soccer and lacrosse player. She is a psychology major but plans on doing something different for her grad work. She isnt sure if she wants to work in a school as a career counselor or special ed teacher. She seems to change her mind around this time (the beginning of school) She is doing great in all her classes at least she likes school.
Our son is a freshman in college. In Rhode Island. He seems to be settled into his new life. He has only been gone 1 week and he talks and acts like he...Expand for more
has been gone longer. I suppose its better for him to adjust quickly. For me its goning to take some time.
As for my husband and I we are busy. We own Marco's Italian Deli on Hertel in North Buffalo. Any time any one is in the neighborhood come on in! My husband works their and I do the books from home. I have a job that I love and its probably better we are not together 24/7. Its been a long time since high school. I have run into a few people over the years.
This is supposed to be my life bio here. I am enjoying my life. Not that all has been perfect we have had our share of illness and hardship. But mostly I can't complain. My husband is a wonderful man and great father. We are extremely proud of each of our children. We are patiently waiting to be grandparents. Our kids don't want to have children as young as we were. They love to travel and want to go as many places before they settle down. Two of them have been to Japan. My husband & I just laugh because we are the biggest homebodies. I would rather have dinner with family then travel the world.
