Tina's Story
Too funny...snakes pops up as one of my interests! Ha! I just allow my son to have a few unusual pets. Unfortunatley, reptiles/amphibians are hard to keep alive & Dude(gecko),Fluffy (greensnake), and Frodo (tree frog) are now deceased.
I'm currently teaching Art, painting & homeschooling my 3 'tweenagers'. (11,13 & 15) I love it, except when we are having a bad day & a school bus goes by...
We try to plan our vacations around what we are studying & have had the opportunity to do some really cool stuff. We have helped on an Archeological dig, helped biologists count migrating raptors from on top of a mountain, found fossilized dinosaur tracks...
My kiddos have earned Junior Ranger badges from about 18 National Parks. I don't think there will be anymore, at Pictured Rocks National Seashore, MI, I tried to sign them up & I received groans. During our beautiful wooded 6 mile hike along cliffs & the lake, I heard,"Mom, why can't we just go to Florida like everyone else."
We love music. We play RockBand alot. My son won a tournament & I got to go backstag...Expand for more
e with him to meet "Seether".
I wanted to tell them they needed to work on some happier lyrics, but chickened out. He played RockBand with a real rock band for about 45 mins before the concert. I couldn't hear for 3 days after the concert.
Before this..I worked for HeadStart Early Intervention, testing children for learning disabilities & refering them for various services.
I also ran the Graphics Department at IBM Dayton. IBM stands for 'I've been moved' & that's what happened to the Dayton branch office.
I also lived in a tent for a Summer as a camp counselor.
I went to WSU studied Art & Communications. Graduated then started taking Early Childhood Education classes while working. Didn't get to totally finish, I kept having babies...
My pregnancies were rough & deliveries tougher. All 3 were born immature with health issues. I lost my last job because I was in the ER with my daughter one too many times. That's how I ended up becoming a stay-at-home mom. I've been at home for *gasp* 12 years & homeschooled for 9 yrs.
They are doing great now. :)
