Hi fellow classmates! Tina Wurmlinger Paone here -- writing this from my home in Beijing, China. I arrived in China 9 yrs. ago, along with my husband (Mike) and 2 kids (Aaron, now 22 and Cerise, aged 18). We came on behalf of The Boeing Co. , where Mike is the Director of Customer Support, China Division. It was tough leaving Huntington Beach, CA. where we lived for 11 yrs. but have really enjoyed our time here. The Chinese people are very friendly and make us feel very welcome. Believe me, it is not the China we thought of before moving here! Cerise is set to graduate from high school this May and will be a MSU Spartan come fall! Since Mike and I both have all of our family members there (including our son), it will be a great relief knowing she will have a place to go for holidays, especially since Mike and I will most likely remain in Beijing for another yr. or two. I am already starting to feel sad about having an "empty nest" and can't even imagine daily life without our child around. On the other hand, it will provide me the opportunity to travel more around China, something I've wanted to do more of over the yrs. but haven't been able to due to parental ...Expand for more
