Life Upon graduation from Pius X High School, I went to work for Utter-McKinley Mortuaries on May 5, 1965. After two years of employment I attended the California College of Mortuary Science and was licensed by the State of California as a funeral director and embalmer. I continued my studies and was later licensed by the State as a cemetery broker and Life Insurance Agent. I worked at Utter-McKinley as a mortuary manager and after many years, was transferred from the Utter-McKinley Downey facility to Memory Garden Memorial Park and Mortuary in Brea, where I was appointed President of the firm. After the death of my mentor, Mr. Joseph DeSimone, I was appointed vice-president of the Lafayette Company, Santa Barbara; and president of the other mortuary and cemetery companies including Utter-McKinley San Fernando Mission Mortuary and Inglewood Cemetery Mortuary. This year marked my 51st year with the same company.
