Todd's Story
Born and raised in Wenatchee, Washington for his first 11 years, Todd spent the next 6 years on a small farm in Moses Lake before his family moved to Richland, Washington in 1982. Todd graduated from Richland High School and immediately began work as a Technician at the Hanford Site's N-Reactor. In 1986, Todd started a career with Westinghouse as a Plant Engineer working at several of the facilities on the Hanford Site. It was at this same time that Todd completed his AA degree with an emphasis in Electronics Technology from Columbia Basin College. In 1993 Todd earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Information Systems and went on to earn a MBA in Engineering & Technology Management from City University of Seattle in 1996. In 1996, Todd started his career which continues to present at Battelle - Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). Todd was a Project Manager in the Robotic & Mechanical Systems Group for 7 years before being promoted in 2003 to Group Manager of the Technology Planning & Deployment Group in the Energy and Environmental Technology Directorate of the laboratory.
As Group Manager, Todd manages the operations of Battelle\PNNL offices in both Richland, Washington and Portland, Oregon that are staffed with a total of 72 Scientists and Engineers primarily focused on performing economic & financial analyses, technology planning & assessments, technology adaptation & deployment, testing and demonstration of advanced systems that support primarily the Energy, Environmental, and National Security needs of our clients.

received an R&D 100 Award (the Academy Award of Technology Developemt), and a Federal Laboratory Consortium Award for successful Technology Transfer of non-intrusive, ultrasonic based container inspection and contents identification systems.
Todd has been married to his wife Stephanie (Short) for the past 21 years, they have two grown and married children and two grandchildren (all live in the Tri-Cities).
Todd is a big believer in community service and currently serves on several boards and committees that include:
- City of Pasco Planning Commission - Chairman (2006-2010)
- City of Pasco Corridor Enhancement Study Committee - Member (2008-2010)
- City of Pasco Local Redevelopment Advisory Committee - Member (2008-2010)
- Benton-Franklin Workforce Development Council - Board of Directors (2004-Present)
- Benton-Franklin Head Start - Board of Directors (2008-2010)
- Franklin County Jail Citizens Advisory Committee - Member (2007-Present)
- Franklin County Solid Waste Advisory Committee - Vice Chairman (2007-Present)
- Franklin County Law & Justice Council - Member (2009-Present)
- Leadership Tri-Cities 2007 Graduate and Alumni - (2007-Present)
- Columbia Basin Badger Club - Board of Directors (2008-2011)
In addition since 1999, Todd has served as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Management and Business at City University of Seattle. Todd teaches undergraduate and graduate level classes in the areas of Project Management, Organizational Effectiveness, Managerial Leadership, and Organizational Communications.
