Todd's Story

Growing up in Jonesboro was a blast. I just turned 42 and as I get older I miss my old friends, Bob Garrett, Jerry Morris, Wayne Hay,Todd Abrecombie, Stanley Sneed, Luis Rivera, Ritchie Tolar, Joe Treadway and many more. I still stay in touch with Todd Abrecombie, Stanley Sneed and old Judge Teat. I have moved around quite a bit with Corrections Corporation of America. I never dreamed when I started with them in 1990 I would become a Warden. We have lived in Natchitoches Louisiana for most of the last 23 years but we have been to Georgia twice, and now in Casa Grande AZ about 40 miles outside of Phoneix. The home place of John Wayne, Ty Cobb. It is great out here, Golf Courses, Diamondback Baseball, Cardinal Football is ugly for a Cowboy Fan of course, and right in the middle of MLB Spring Training grounds. I am currently the Warden at Saguaro Correctional Facility in Eloy AZ. My office Phone # is 520-464-0500. Just as for me and they will run me down. Ms. Salters was the best Teacher I had. She set me down and got it through my thick head that I would loose my Scholarship at Tech if I did not slow down. I have never forgot that. She was a sweet lady. Bill Decou, Ted Reeves, and Lonnie Callahan were great to me as well. Doc Robinson was the best Principal. I am very Lucky, I have a beautiful wife, Melanie Reed Thomas, two sons, Mitchell 14 and Matthew 10. They are good boys that are better than daddy was at just about everything. have played in the USSSA World Series and continue to excel in baseball. I am extremely proud of them. I have not changed much except I have lost some hair and most of what I have is salt and pepper. It is time for a little Hair Color. There are two many wild things, the only one I will tell is when Jerry Morris and I would go joy riding in his moms Lincoln, his dads Van, sisters car, and getting away with it for months until we finally got caught. Those times were fun. I hope my friends remember me as a good guy although I was not always. I was so caught up in Athletics I never slowed down to understand that ever thing is not a contest. I lost some friends on the athletic field. Looking back I would speak less often and think more before I spoke. I would enjoy people more and things less. I would aploligize more to the ones that I hurt, and consider peoples feelings more. I enjoyed everything about JH and La. Tech, I have lost quite a few friends to various accidents off of our Tech Football team, and I hopefully will make time to get back into Jonesboro more to see family and friends, I still go to Natchitoches 2-3 times a year. I will join this site this week if I do not keep putting it off. I will be in Touch. If you are ever in the Phoenix area, give me a call. You can also visit our Website at Corrections Corporation of America. Go to Facility Locations and select Saguaro Correctional Facility for directions to the site.
