Tom's Story
Life
The best is yet to come! I believe that. March 19, 09 Kathy and I celebrated 32 years of marriage. That is a miracle for which I am grateful. I have three children: Mandy born 1980, married to James, Annelyse born '05 and James David joined us in July '07; Richard born 1981, married to Meredith, Joy born '06 and Grace made a grand entrance in August '07; Andrew born 1985.
Kathy is a schoolteacher - French I and II, Bible, sometimes Algebra and Introduction to Languages
We were married in Americus, lived in Albany for a year, 1 year in Thomasville, 10 yrs. in Orange County, CA and have been back in the south now since 1989.
I have served as a youth pastor, worship leader, choral/orchestral director, children's choir director, etc. in several churches over the years and have taught choir in church schools in GA and CA. Lots and lots of singing in churches, conferences, special...Expand for more
events, etc. I have been blessed to preach/teach/share my faith in lots of settings.
My dad passed in 1995, mother in 2003, my brother Billy in 2003 as well. My sister Mahala returned to the South a few years ago after being in Hawaii for many years.
The great adventure of my life is and has been for some 35 years walking with the Lord Jesus. It would be silly to say life has been easy. It has not. I was a "believer" for a good while before actually becoming a "follower." I walked away for a season with painful consequences. Thank God He is our relentless redeemer and restorer. Through it all He has been with me saving my life, marriage and family more times than I can count. His love never ceases and His mercies are new every morning. I owe Him everything.
Lastly, I LOVE BEING POPPY! Grandchildren are fabulous and I've got 4 - more to come I hope! What a gift. Wow!
