Tom's Story
I started out as a child. Born in Manhattan, raised in Stony Point, NY - which I will always proudly call my hometown.
All four of my grandparents left Ireland in the 1920's and moved to New York City. My dad was a New York City police officer, and he and my mom both now live in the Atlanta metro area, as does my brother, Kevin (NRHS '78). My mom and dad always had high expectations for my brother and I, and they gave us plenty of encouragement, guidance, and love.
After graduation from North Rockland High in 1984, I spent four challenging and fun years at the University of Notre Dame, and I graduated in 1988 with a degree in Finance. After Notre Dame, I worked in Washington, DC - first for The Kennedy Center (what a blast THAT was) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). I have worked in the Life Sciences industry since, with progressive responsibilities with Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Medical Device, and Consulting (Deloitte) firms, and now I get to write about indu...Expand for more

I met my future wife in 1989 through a friend of her family, and went to her Senior Prom with her. It was pretty scandalous at the time, seeing how I was a recent college grad and she was just about to start college. She went off to Vassar, and I continued working in Washington, but we kept in touch. After she graduated from college we began seeing each other more frequently and things kept progressing. We got married in 1996, and Angela is the best person I could have imagined as my wife. We have 3 children, and I never understood how parents could love each child equally - appreciating each one's gifts and uniqueness - but now I get it completely.
My brother Kevin, has been a Captain with Delta for many years, and he is an excellent pilot, father (3 great daughters), husband, and big brother. We were best men at each others weddings. He is wise, kind, funny, and has always given me excellent advice.
