Tom's Story
Life
I am currently working and living in Tampa, Florida at the United States Special Operations Command as a liasion officer for Diplomatic Security. I can be contacted at tomborisch at hot mail I work for the U.S. Department of State, Diplomatic Security Service as a federal agent. Prior to Tampa, I spent 3 years as Agent in Charge of security at the U.S. Interests Section (USINT) in Havana (as we do not have Diplomatic relations with Cuba, we do not call our building an Embassy). I arrived there in Aug 03 and departed in Nov 06. Prior to moving there, I lived in Hawaii on the north shore of Oahu. I have been working for the U.S. Department of State for 23 years (since nov85) and have lived overseas in Afghanistan, Austria, Cuba, Israel, Japan, Liberia, Pakistan, and Zaire. Domestically I have lived in; Wash.DC, Az, Fl, and Hawaii. I joinged the Marine Corps after graduating from Homestead in 1974. F I joined the U.S. Department of State in 1985 and have been there ever since.
College
After the Marine Corps I, along with my brother, purchased a fishing resort in Chetek, Wisconsin (NW part of State). I attended Wisc. Indianhead Tech. College and received my AA in Finance. I transferred to the University of South Florida - Tampa, where I received my BA in International Studies and eventually sold my portion to my brother.
Workplace
I entered the Marine Corps after highschool; six years later and after having lived in Japan, Afghanistan, and Austria I left the Marine Corps to attend college in Wisconsin and Florida. Upon graduation from college(1985) I joined the Diplomatic Security Service, a bureau within the U.S. Department of State. Since then I have done extensive travel and have lived in Zaire, Israel, Liberia, Pakistan and am currently living and working in Havana, Cuba.
Military
Joined the USMC in July 1974. I lived and worked in NC, Ca, Japan, Austria, and Afghanistan. In 1980 I departed the Marine Corps and entered college.
