Tom's Story
After HenHud, went to Princeton, majored in EE/CS, gave up wrestling and soccer to play lightweight football for 4 years. Bickered Tower Club. Got engaged. Graduated,
Moved to Boston to work at the Boston Consulting Group, got married, then moved to Seattle in 1988 to join Microsoft, where I worked on programming languages and devtools (QuickBASIC, Visual Basic, Visual Studio, MSDN, TFS, etc.) in program, product, and engineering mgmt roles. VP of marketing for Windows when Windows XP security crises hit and Win7 (Longhorn) was in development. Drove plans for the "next billion" users in emerging markets, multimedia PCs, tablets, and shifting to monetization via subscription.
On the home front, had first child in 1990, then another every two years totaling 6 by 2000.
Started coaching kids soccer in fall of 1997, then...Expand for more
baseball / softball each spring from 1997 until now.
In 2007, suddenly and unexpectedly found myself suddenly single again. Left MSFT to start over in Seattle's tech startup scene doing Board and Advisory work; bought a Christmas tree farm; met an amazing widow with one son in 2009, married in 2010, then had two more boys in 2011 and 2013, during which time I started Mobilize.Net, acquiring assets of ArtinSoft as our starting point.
Now with first grandchild, I've continued to coach soccer and baseball for our little guys, enjoy time boating on Lake Washington and Puget Sound, and skiing with the kids every chance we get.
My 2 yr plan in Seattle has turned into 34 yrs...and counting. I still miss the opportunities to reconnect with friends, teammates, and classmates from HenHud, Look me up when you're in Seattle!
