LifeAfter graduating from East Peoria, I set my sights on getting a degree in geology from New Mexico State University.  I attained this goal in 1975 and started a 30 year career working as a geologist.  I have lived in nine states and worked in 26 additional ones.  My job has taken me to places that range from breath taking to why did I come here.  The things I have seen and the places I have been amaze me to this day.  I have worked in the minerals (coal and uranium) and the oil and gas industries.  Working in the oil industry was not good. I have been working for the past 18 years in the environmental industry.  I get the job of finding and accessing the messes our grandfathers, fathers, and we have been making for the past 50 to 100 years.  I have seen sites go from incredibly contaminated to clean.  It gives me a good feeling to know that I am doing something good for mother Earth.  I have worked on both civilian and militar...Expand for more
