Tom's Story

Greetings from Minnesota! Yes, the weather here is just slightly different from what it was on Okinawa. I graduated from Kubasaki a month early on April 30th, 1971 and my family was on a flight headed back to the States the very next day. After high school, I went to Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas and planned to become a U.S. history teacher. A few years later, I changed course and went to an aviation technical school to become an A&P mechanic. In 1979, I went to work for ...Expand for more
Northwest Orient Airlines in Minneapolis, Minnesota as an aircraft mechanic and later on as a maintenance instructor.. You may remember Northwest's radio commercials on KSBK when you were on Okinawa back in the 60's and 70's. I just retired in May this year after 35 years with Northwest and Delta Air Lines. I met my wife Terry, here in Minnesota, and we have been married since 1986. We enjoy traveling and hope to start spending our winters in south Texas now that we're both retired.

Our oldest Sheltie Blaze crossed the Rainbow Bridge today. He had developed cancer in his nose and it progressed very rapidly. He was one of the sweetest boys that we have ever had. We will miss him dearly. This photo w
Thanks for all of the birthday wishes! I sure wish that I could have blown out all the candles on the cake before the sprinkler system went off in the restaurant! Cake soup isn’t really all that bad.
The first bloom on this recently planted Hibiscus opened today. It’s about 6 inches in diameter and a real beauty. I’m hopeful that the plant will be able to survive a Minnesota winter.
Mother Nature says, Bah humbug to Spring and April Fools Day. Winter isn’t over until I say it’s over!
Received this from a friend this morning. I think it says it all.
Here’s to a kinder and gentler 2021!🥂
During the past year, it’s often been difficult to find much to smile or laugh about, especially when you’re wearing a mask. Here’s a little something that a friend sent me today. I hope it brings a smile to your face...
What do you do in Minnesota when it’s been over 90 degrees every day for the past week? Head to the local Dairy Queen just like everyone else in the neighborhood!

Today’s breakfast ride was to Tejas Restaurant in Pharr, Texas.

With all the new members joining the bike club this season, this was our largest group of riders that we’ve had in many years.

The American Red Cross has actually been after me for the past several months to come in and donate a pint of blood. A friend emailed the following to me this morning and I got a good chuckle out of it.
Notice to Minnesota Residents: The two remaining months of Fall have been cancelled to allow Old Man Winter to move in for the next 6 months. The Fall Season was last spotted heading south on Interstate 35 with it’s tail
As Mr. Rogers used to say, “It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood.”
A little something to bring a smile to you today. I hope that you've been working on your 'bucket' list!
Yesterday was Blaze’s (on right) 9th birthday. He and his younger sister, Lexi, celebrated with some peanut butter flavored Frosty Paws.
A little something to put a smile on your face today.
