After about 7 years of semi-retirement (starting in 2003), decided to go back to work in early 2010 working for BAE Systems, a Defense Contractor based in the UK. In the US, BAE bought out what used to be FMC/United Defense, manufacturers of the Bradley, M113 and MRAP military vehicles. Signed on as a Field Services Representative and Satellite Systems technician. I finished working in Texarkana, TX for in November, 2010 as an MRAP instructor and a member of the MRAP Mobile Maintenance Team. I also worked in the Charleston, SC offices for several months, as well as the Army's Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Aberdeen, MD before that. I attended the military's Combat Readiness Center at Fort Benning, GA beginning on December 4, where I got all my innoculations for overseas, as well as helmet, body armor, etc., and some theater-specific training on country customs, IED awareness, and other details.
