Tom's Story

Life has been great for me since leaving Compton. I spent a tour in the military got a couple of awards and a hell of a good eduction, and married the love of my life. We have 2 daughters, 1 is a physiologist the other is a Broker, and 3 grand kids. After the military we moved outside of Spokane Washington, and have made this our home base. I started working for the UP Railroad then moved back to Compton in 1964 for a year then bought a business in Spokane later sold it and work for a few other company's travailing, in 1974 I went to work for Kaiser Aluminum and spent a good share of my time in the international division, with the longest stint in Africa. We went through a revolution, counter revolution, and finally a final military take over. Working for Kaiser had allowed us to travel in Europe, the Caribbean, and Western Africa. I retired at 59 1/2, but failed at it, not use to being home that much. I went to work for a company that builds cranes on Dams. I was the project manager for all the field work until last year when at 100 feet over the dam I began...Expand for more
to look where I was walking on the steel while checking the jobs, as well as being in Alabama or Florida one week and the next in Oregon, then Kentucky, or where ever the following week. I took over the fabrication department and now am home almost every night. When the kids were young and we were in Spokane I drug them all over the Northwest following the rodeo circuit, then Motorcycles all over the north west. Lynn (my wife) and I still travel a lot on one trip we drove from Spokane to Manhattan,Washington DC,(where we live earlier in our life)then New Orleans, and Nashville. We go to South Padre Island every other year for a few days and try to make Nevada 2 times a year. So in short I don't rodeo, or race motorcycles work about 10 hour a day an work on my Family tree with 10 generations almost completed, travel and now trying to catch up with what is going on with the people I knew from school. I have 1 question for anyone married "When is the honeymoon over"? Anyone that happens to remembers my brother Jim or Me let me know how life is with you.
