Tom's Story
Life
Enlisted United States Marine Corps in Feb. 1967 after finishing the 11th grade, (thought I was missing something special, I was 17).
Was assinged to MCRD San Deigo Calif.,Plt 3007.
Arrived in Vietnam in Sept. 1967 and was placed with the 1st Bn, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division, Bravo Co. 2nd Plt. 3d Squad on Hill 10.

o stay with them when they needed everyone.
After being hurt I spent about 6 months in hospital, and later placed on the Temporay Medical
Retired List. In 1971 I was able to return to active duty, and was agind assinged to the 7th Marines H&S Co. at Camp Pendleton Calif.
I stayed on active duty until Feb. 1979 when I had decided this was not the Marine Corps I had joined in 1967 and was discharged a Staff Sargent.
After being discharged I became a house painter and now am a Painting Contractor living in Livermore Calif. were I plan on staying for awhile.
