Tom's Story
Life
Well...after high school, I went off to Western Michigan University to study aircraft engineering. Lots of stuff happened, and I flunked out two years later. The following month, my daughter Rachel Knox was born. (That was part of the stuff that happened...) I took a dishwashing job at a country club and ended up becoming the purchasing agent a couple of years later. In February 1987 I met a librarian from Ohio and married her that July; after almost a year in Monroe, MI, we moved to Detroit, my childhood "home town." I worked at the coun...Expand for more
try club for a little over 16 years, during which I went back to school part-time to become a teacher. Even worked at a warehouse loading trucks for a while so I could take day classes. Ended up pulling out of student teaching halfway through, but at least I have my BS in Education. Now I work for LKQ Corporation (automobile recyclers) in Belleville, MI.
Oh, and Rachel is 26 years old.
All in all, though it hasn't been what I expected, life has been good.
On 8/30/02, Anni and I moved to Monroe, MI, where we had lived when we first got together.
