Tom's Story
OK. I've sort of resisted doing this because, well, just because. So, for the one or two of you who may have the slightest interest (accent slightest), this is what I've been doing over the past forty-eight years.
I was married to Mary Delveaux, from Green Bay, who I met at the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago, in 1970. I graduated from UW-Parkside in 1975, while I was making cars at American Motors.
Our first son, Nathaniel, was born in August of 1977 and our second, Geoffrey, in October of 1981.
My first professional work was at the Kenosha Council on Alcoholism while I was still in school. That was followed by a four year stint at Goodwill Industries in Racine. In 1984 we moved to Shawano, Wisconsin where I took a job as a social worker for a duo-county mental health agency. In between, I received a master's degree from Cardinal Stritch College.
After eight or nine years in Menominee County as a Community Services Manager, I went back to Shawano County as a social work supervisor. In 2004 I was appointed director of Langade County Dept. of Social Services. I retired from there in 2012. I did not stay retired long.

r retiring, I took the position of Administrative Coordinator for Shawano County. I held that position until December of 2014. Then, I finally retired!
I now write historical essays and local news stories for a weekly newspaper in Shawano. Not bad for someone who graduated in the top 99% of our class!
We have two grandsons, Jordan Tyler Madsen, aged 16 and Elijah Brody Madsen aged 2 months. They keep both Mary and I quite busy. Jordan lives with us full-time, while Elijah is with us 50% of the time.
On a Case High School note, I re-established a relationship with Mr. Jack Woodbury (remember him?). He lives in Elkhorn and we visit he and his wife, Ella, when we get down that way, which isn't too often. He's eighty-four years old and looks and sounds great! He was always one of those fond memories I have of Case.
Well, that's my life in a nutshell. As a retired social worker, I am always interested in what others have done with their lives. So, if you want to, let me know.
And, to those who have left messages for me over the years, I'm sorry for not responding. As time permits, I will do so.
I hope everybody out there is well.
