Tom's Story

Life Am I ending where I started? Having married at 18 and never making the time to go to college, my first career was in the radio business. More than 20 years later, I got out and went into the training business, working for nearly 10 years on my own before the market evaporated. Now I'm back in the radio business as news director of a 5 station group headquarter in Jacksoville (Texas). It's not what I want to be when I grow up (if I ever do).But necessity is the mother of a lot of things. I have three adult children, 39, 34 and 29, (the first born three days after my 20th birthday and a ten year old daughter who beleives she's an adult (second marriage). Elkhart, and Kristi is in ALaska. The two oldest girls have produced eight off spring. We are currently living in Elkhart, Texas (you probably didn't know there is one) but I'm not sure why. Debbie (Dagley)and I were married for 17 years before divorcing in 1982. For some reasons, in 1993 I married again. I don't get to fish nearly as much as I used to, I have to get up at 3:30 in the morning and I get to work Saturdays and holidays. But I have a job! My father died in 1986 while on vacation in Hawaii and my mother died in 1998 with colon can cer. I tell you that because some of you will remember my father as the public health diretor as we were growing up and others will rember the remarkable woman who was my mother and what a cook she was!
