Tom's Story
AUTUMN 2008
On October 25, I married Jeanette de Aldrey! It's wonderful to once again have a partner! Twenty five years with Diane (Simms) showed me the joys of having a great partner!
Life surely holds surprises for us. I met Jeanette through the hospice nurse that cared for Diane while ill in our home. Months later, this wonderful nurse introduced me to Jeanette...seems she also cared for Jeanette's husband (in a nearby community) as he fought ALS, Lou Gehrig's Disease.
SUMMER 2008
In 1998, Diane (Simms) and I moved our family to Georgetown, MA after living in Houston, TX, Sayre, PA and Rochester, NY. Georgetown is 25 miles north of Boston. We enjoy quick access to ocean beaches, the White Mountains of NH and the parks and reserves of Maine! I commute to the Mass General Hospital where I have a very rewarding career.

s Maritime Academy where he studies engineering and homeland/harbor security. He also plays baseball at the Academy. Stephanie is working her senior year HS and is aiming at a career in federal law enforcement. And Jeffrey, our youngest, is in the 8th grade and looks to the future no farther than his next meal!
As many of you know, adversity knocked on our door in October 2005 as Diane was diagnosed with late-stage skin cancer (malenoma). After several difficult (and cherished) months, she passed on March 2, 2006. There's not much one can say...I'm so grateful for our 25 years together.
Today, the kids and I continue moving forward... taking every opportunity to honor Diane, who was an exceptional mother, wife and friend. For those that knew her, you know just how exceptional she was.
