Tom's Story
Life
Bio. Let's see, what am I willing to put into public view?
Graduated Frankfurt--at the ZOO of all places, very appropriate for our class, I guess. 1971
Hung out in Germany for a year, working at an Aral gas station, partying, and improving my German. 1972
Joined the Navy to dodge the Draft. Hey, they let me in, so they were as culpable as I. Heh heh. Learned to run a nuclear reactor! Partied a lot more than I should have. Convinced the Navy they didn't really want ME with my hands on the controls of a reactor, so they generously gave me a fully honorable discharge and let me go WAY early, bless their little hearts. minate lengths of time to work to garner sufficient bucks for tuition, rent, food, and the obligatory college parties, I took 7 years for a 4 year degree. That takes us to '81.
Now let's be honest, how many of us can say we had so much fun and so few real responsibilities for a full decade after Frankfurt?
Then came the revenge of all of my K-12 and a few of my college teachers. A very just and earned revenge say those former teachers I've spoken to. I've been teaching middle school English for the past 20+ years, with forays into U.S. history, computer tech, math, and just about everything else.
During most of my teaching time I've been married to Meredith, the most wonderful woman there is. We have a son, Colin, who is also great. (How can he help it with the genetic background he has?
We live in Western Washington state, and never have to put up with any environmental extremes.
What's up with you?
