College
Graduated from IU Bloomington with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
95-2000 Completed MBA from IU. Also earned two professional licenses as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Certified Financial Manager (CFM).
Personal
I married Lisa Schoof. She also grew up in LaPorte and graduated from LPHS in 1986. She formerly worked as an RN specializing in long term care and retired in 2018.
Lisa and I have two fabulous kids. BOTH children are CPA's and live in the Indianapolis area with their spouses.
Workplace
Began professional career at Jones Enterprises in LaPorte, IN. After about a year and a half I moved away (more like ran).
From there moved on to Central Soya Company, Inc in Gibson City, IL. Promoted to Plant Controller at Central Soya in Remington, IN 9 months later. Kind of neat, according to the HR Director at the time at the ripe old age of 24 I was the youngest Controller in the 75 year history of the company up to that point. After a while moved on to be a Plant Controller at a new startup plant in Juarez, Mexico for Hubbell-Raco.
Worked for many years as a Division Controller for Matthew Warren Inc in Logansport, IN. and lived in Lafayette, IN. Among other products, the company made suspension springs for race cars including NASCAR, Indy, and F-1. We also make springs for the military HUMVEES.
Fulfilled a professional goal when I became a CFO of a $55m company. That goal quickly became a nightmare when I cracked open the books.
July 2018, said goodbye (actually good riddance) to the corporate world and bought my own company that supplies linens to the healthcare industry. Couldn't be happier!
Update!!!
Aug 2020, bought a second company named Mustangs To Fear in Rochester, IN. The company builds award winning 1965-1970 custom Mustangs! Extremely blessed to have the privilege of leading a team of highly skilled craftsman!
Along with running two companies, I also enjoy helping a close friend farm 1200 acres in the Starke/Pulaski counties area.
