Tom's Story
Hello,
After high school I attended college for two years, first at Cal Poly, Pomona as a landscape architect major, then to PCC as an art major. Then came the draft. After serving two years in the US Army in Germany, I immediately enrolled in college again. I graduated from CSULA with a BA and MA in art with a 3-dimensional design option. I worked as a design engineer as I worked my way through college.
I have a twenty-four year old daughter, Kassandra. When her mother and I divorced I moved from San Diego to Northern California (Roseville) to be near her, not wanting to miss out on the opportunity of being part of her life as she grew up, leaving a business of over twenty years in San Diego. Best choice I've ever made! She is my only child, my only family, and I absolutely adore her!
Right after 9/11, I took her to Paris, France. She was only ten or eleven. We had a wonderful time. She is a wonderful traveler, In June 2015 she graduated from Chico State and just started her first job. She helps to keep me young.
I have a small business, even smaller now wit...Expand for more
h the current recession. I currently work out of a home office and shop. I've been self-employed since 1977. Like many others, the economy has really affected my business. It doesn't appear that I'll be retiring any time soon, if ever. Unfortunately, I was investing heavily in my company when the recession hit.
I enjoy traveling, reading, the ocean and beach, swimming, tennis, cooking, gardening, reading, film (movies), photography, the theater, bicycling, hiking, river rafting, etc. I've been single now for almost eighteen years and miss not having someone special in my life, other than my daughter, to share with.
I really miss living in San Diego. I thought that when my daughter went off to college I would move back down to San Diego. That was the plan. That was before the recession. Now it doesn't look promising. San Diego is not only a beautiful city, but has so much to offer culturally with the theater, the symphony, zoo, sailing, etc. And, the weather is perfect year round.
I hope you are all doing well. I'd love to hear from anyone who might remember me.
