Tom's Story
1970's HHS REUNION MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND 2013:
We had a reunion for all the HHS classes of the 1970's in Hunter Park Memorial Day in 2007, 2008, and 2009, 2010, and 2012. We plan to meet every year on Memorial Weekend during the Celebration of Freedom in Hobart. It is a time to visit and relax. There is no cost. If you have any questions let me know. Hope to see you there in 2013.
MY LIFE:
After graduation from HHS I attended SWOSU in Weatherford where I met Mary from Guymon, OK. We were married after graduation in 1981. I taught science at HHS for two years. I attended the OU College of Architecture in Norman and after graduation in 1986 worked for OU Architectural and Engineering Services for two years.
I have worked as an architect for CH2M HILL (IDC Architects) in Portland, Oregon since 1988. We live in a 1906 house in an ...Expand for more
old neighborhood in southeast Portland. We enjoy the Pacific Ocean, the Cascade and Coastal Mountains, the Columbia River Gorge and waterfalls, the forests, movies, photography, writing, and history.
WALT TURVAVILLE TRIBUTE:
My dad died in February 2006 as a survivor of heart problems for over 30 years. He taught at HHS from 1955 until his retirement in 1986 as Teacher of the Year. He enjoyed 20 years of retirement and spent time with his grandson (Martha's son) and granddaughters (Mark's daughters). He left a legacy of love and support for his family, friends, and students that will live on for generations. I made a trek from Oklahoma to Oregon in my dad's old blue 1968 Ford pickup in the fall of 2006 and hope to restore it.
MY SIBLINGS:
David (Class of 1978), Mark (Class of 1981), and Martha (Class of 1989) are all well.
