Tom's Story
Just got laid off due to lack of funding, so I have some time to answer John Anderson's request to tell what I have been doing. This is the first installment with more to come if there is any interest:
Pre Early Years:
Mom was born Oct 15, 1920 just outside Kirkfield, Ontario Canada on the family farm. She was working as a bookkeeper in Toronto when she met my dad in 1940. They were married April 17, 1945 in Toronto and moved to Olney.

went to Canada and joined the RCAF. When the US went to war dad transferred to the Coast Guard and served on the destroyer escort USS Durant. His boat captured the German Uboat U873 at the end of the war.
After moving to Olney, they moved in with my grandparents at 345 West Lafayette. I remember the house had a coal fired potbelly stove and indoor plumbing and an outhouse. This area of Olney was called Goosenibble. It was the area where the vinegar plant is located.
