Tom's Story
Just out of LBCC I took a job with an offshore drilling company... Global Marine. Within a year, I married Pat (Patti Hibbison, Wilson 1969) and we moved to Panama with the Global Marine. We lived foreign for several years in Lima, Peru then Cork Ireland (I also worked Tunisia and Gabon while living in Ireland) returning to California in 1976. Daughter Rebecca came along that year as well.
I worked in Madras, India, the Philippine Islands then downtown LA for the drilling company until we were moved to Houston in 1979. Houston was, by far, the MOST foreign place we had lived.
In 1981 we moved to London (ahhh, that's better). My office was downtown but we lived in the country ...Expand for more
and enjoyed every bit of it. Rebecca attended 1st-4th grade there. In 1986, oil prices tanked and we all picked up our marbles and moved home.
After a bout in real estate and a bachelors degree I took a job with the California State University system headquarters office downtown Long Beach where I've been ever since. Pat, now in her 19th year of teaching, both or us with masters degrees, we are looking forward to retiring soon; hitting the road in the motor home and getting more golf and flying time in with R/C airplanes.
We've lived in Long Beach just north of the CSULB campus for the last 20 years. Rebecca has a great husband and we have three very cool grandkids living nearby.
