TED SHAW - Artists Biography
Born and raised in Pasadena, Texas, TedÂs introduction to the formal side of art education was at South Houston High School, San Jacinto Junior College and the University of Houston. Frustrated with their rigid curriculum, he sought out artists who were making a living with their art. While under the tutorship of various commercial and fine artists, TedÂs natural talent rapidly surfaced and he excelled as a painter in many mediums. Little did he know of the sacred path that his art would take him in the years ahead.
TedÂs natural talent quickly caught the attention of several of these successful artists and they took him Âunder their wingsÂ. His knowledge and abilities led to commissions from major corporations such as Ozarka, Coca Cola and Putt-Putt Miniature Golf Courses along with organizations such as The Confederate Air Force who own, restore and fly the antique aircraft at air shows throughout the country. The snapshot photos of these along with commissions by personalities such as Kenny Rogers and thousands of individual and small businesses fill several albums. The commercial aspect of art served Ted well for many years.
As a frustrated artist, tired of being creative on demand and disappointed at his failed marriage, he abandoned his talent and moved back to his home town. There he became sales and project manager for his younger brother, David, in his home improvements business. After his brothers death and subsequent closure of that family owned business, Ted tried several jobs over the next few years but nothing seemed to fulfill him. His passionate desire to fulfill himself through his own individual creative artistic expression attracted many transformational experiences to him, yet his path remained unclear.
In 2002 Ted discovered Firewalking. ÂAs an artist and writer, the firewalking experience has opened me up to endless possibilities and ignited my creativity. My creativity was always there, but before I fi...Expand for more
rewalked, I was in a rut  merely standing beside the river of creativity with a teacup  now creativity flows easily through me. Ted went on to become a professional fire tender and has walked, and even stood, on many fires over the years. He is currently a core member of the worlds only professional firewalking exhibition team. The team, under the direction of John Maisel, is invited to organize and facilitate life transformational seminars, incorporating firewalking, worldwide. That initial firewalking experience was a major turning point in TedÂs career.
Shortly after his first firewalk, illness struck. Ted looked at his situation like Âjust another firewalkÂ. While bedridden during the short, but potentially deadly severe illness, Ted was given a series of dreams that let him see how his art was meant to be his spiritual path and produce healing for people world-wide. The rare and precious talent to paint spiritually guided healing art was gifted to Ted during that illness. That dream has rapidly become a reality.
ÂSoul Essence PortraitsÂ, the first aspect of his gift, are handpainted visual color symphonies of the clients energy broadcast or aura. TedÂs intuitive interpretations of the abstract color renderings reveal information about the client that they may not be aware of on a conscience level. The information gleaned may be used, by the client, to enhance their journey through this life and remove blocks that are interfering with the fullness of joy and abundance they are meant to, and deserve to, experience.
New facets of this Âhealing art are continuously being revealed to Ted; facets such intentional healing ÂMandalas (or ÂMedicine Shields as they are called by the Native American Indians). These unique and powerful pieces have an ÂÂ
almost magical effect on the subconscious 1Â
encouraging our emotions to align with, and thereby enhance and support, the manifestation of an intention, or prayer for increased prosperity, health, etc.
