Tommy (Tom)'s Story
Life
I've been married to Karen DiRisio for over thity years now and we have two children. Our son is in Law School. Our daughter is a paramedic in New Bern. I graduated from NC State and got an MBA from Duke. I took early retirement from Progress Energy in 2005 which means that I'm starting a new career. Karen is a physical therapist in private practice.
While our home is still in Smithfield, we're split between North Carolina and Florida these days because of my consulting work.

the town council in 2005. I served a 4 year term from 95 - 99 and then was off for six years.
Karen and I have been working on our cabin in Pender County for the last 20 years. Our house is 3 miles from the ocean on a little lake. We take a lot of pride in the fact that we've built it from the ground up, although the lack of professional carpentry is oh so obvious. And, the project has gone on long enough now that some things need to be repaired while others are unfinished.
