Tonda's Story
What am I doing now?
I'm a wife, mom, step mom, grandma (by marriage) and hopefulla a friend. I currently work as a 911 dispatcher (I've been doing this job for 9 years now and still LOVE it) for a small police department in Colorado. Since high school I've gone to college,had one child, married, divorced, re-married (made the right choice this time), lived in various states and basically worked in the same field. Although I have worked only 9 years in law enforcement dispatch, the other jobs I have held were all dispatching/communications in some form. All in all, I have to say I am pleased with how my live has turned out. Although life as tossed me a few curve balls here and there, I've been very blessed. l of painful reconstructive surgeries, psysical therapy and had to learn to be dependant on those around me. We had a cancer scare with my daughter the same year (fortunately, none of her tumors were cancerous) and since then I have had a very different perspective on life in general. My quality of life has really improved over the last year. I met a wonderful Doctor who was able to repair my ankle with a bone graph and it has finally healed. I still walk with a slight limp but I'll take that compaired to what it has been for the past three years. Since October,2008, I have lost over 100 lbs and that more than anything has contributed to the improvement of my mobility. I feel better, walk better, I have more energy and me general health is so much better than before.
