Toni's Story
I have had a wonderful life filled with more than that awkward Sacramento High School girl could ever have dreamed. No longer the painfully shy student who suffered the comments of "the mean girls" I have happily forgotten their names and gone on to enjoy life to the fullest. Married three times; divorced once and widowed twice, I have been fortunate indeed to have had interesting men as my husbands and soul mates. My last husband, a professor, showed me the world and I have seen the sun come up in New Zealand, experienced the Great Wall of China at noon and enjoyed fabulous wines and dinners in London, Paris, Rome and Constantinople. My varied careers include working as the manager of two art galleries in Denver, CO area, employed at the University of Colorado in Boulder, been the Garden Editor for the "Tri-Lakes Tribune" in Monument, CO and now the Rain Garden Coordinator of Clallam County for the Master Gardeners Program in Washington State. I am proud to say that I have been President of the Swampscott/Marblehead Chapter of Hadassah, the Treasurer of Temple B'nai Shalom in Colorado Springs, CO, twice President of the Sisterhood of the...Expand for more
same temple, wrote a column for a national Jewish magazine, was President of the University Women at the University of Colorado, Boulder and currently I am the Vice President of the Port Angeles Garden Club.
My greatest accomplishment is the mother of five (5) children, two boys and three girls, twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren! I am proud to say that after my divorce I raised the children alone and count among them a PhD in Chemistry, a Master Electrician, a retired bank manager, a business owner and a retired school district employee. I have twelve (12) grandchildren and three (3) great grandchildren. My children and grandchildren are the light of my life, but not the "tie that binds". My motto is, "May they live and be well but far enough away that we can truly enjoy the time we spend together!"
Married once again I live between the sleepy little towns of Sequim and Port Angeles, WA. My interests include my wonderful husband Howard, working for the local Master Gardener Foundation, The Port Angeles Garden Club, enjoy gourmet cooking, collecting local wines, volunteerism and chasing my Cocker Spaniel "Cookie"!
