Toni's Story

Life A bio on life, how interesting.....as if anyone really cares. Most people these days are very nosey and just want to see if they have done better than those they went to school with. I am very successful in all I do well except when I got married but that is neither here nor there and certainly won't be a concern to anyone else. I wish the best for who all read this little bio. If you want to know more about me, look for my books in publication....but you have to be smart and figure out what my pen name is.......SMILE!!!! School My biggest crush in high school as most of you know was Craig Butts. Yes we did end up marrying and having two beautiful children. Yes the children grew up to be taller than both Craig and myself, over 5'5"...ha ha. Craig and I have been divorced for some time, you soon learn as you get older, who you thought you would spend the rest of your life with is not totally a reality. A crush is just that a crush.....but Craig happily remarried and I have not married been single for some time now.....enjoying what life has to offer. LaSalle High School will be missed for Eddie Hawkins constantly asking what is for lunch....oh HERSHBERGERS......ha ha ha cute.....for the cafeteria and its real lunches or were they real...hmmmmmm....for the IOL and COE classes and the endless adventures there, Mrs. Brittain for her faith in my skills and abilities. College College was a hoot and such an experience, ESPECIALLY when you are raising children and being a single mother. Those endless mornings of getting out of bed and getting children off to school or daycare to only turn around and get yourself ready BUT......you have no time, so YES I WOULD....go to school with my slippers on my feet and a scarf wrapped around my head and just get to my first class. Thank goodness though I had time in between the first class and the second class to go home and get dressed properly. Those long study nights paid off. Education is the key to success and believing in yourself. You will only achieve if you believe. Encouragement to others: I built myself a dream board and found pictures of cars, type of house I wanted built, personal goals, and this includes my youngest ...Expand for more
daughter's dreams and post it up in the house where you see it. Daily you are reminded of WHY you are going to work and get that money you so deserve!!! One goals is to find my sister, Julie, and pay her back the money I owe her from tons of years ago. Your goals and dreams are endless. Workplace I have to say my life has included many areas of jobs which all had a common goal....customer service and referrals. I have always worked somewhere that was to better the lives of others. My happiness in a given day was when I could help problem solve other peoples problems. My first job was at a cemetery, crematory and a funeral home. How scary......well it taught me so much about people, it gave me a new sense on life. Today my dreams and goals are a work in progress but everyday I achieve something more and I have come to realize the harder you work the more you get out of it.....and oh Uncle Sam too. Am I successful.....YES. Military Military was not something I was in personally persay. I was however, a military wife. Now that could be just as interesting though. Craig brought his family, the wife and one child at that time to Ft. Knox. We lived there for a couple of years while Craig fulfilled his milatary obiligation. I was pregnant with a boy and gave birth at the hospital on base. Talk about military.....I actually gave birth Military style......good grief...no pampering....nothing....you rested in a room with 5 other women and their babies....did I get rest...NO! You got up at 5:00am and took your baby to the nursery, when you returned there was clean sheets on your bed.....at the end of it, folded for YOU to change your own bed, bathroom was down the hall, nurses station...you walked to get your meds.....but now the meals were out of this world...steak, shrimp, etc. Midnight snack awaited you in the family room. The phone was a PAY phone at the end of the hall, there was ONE for all of us to use. And oh snap, you gave birth...and when you were done, father carries the baby to the nursery, you get up off that table/bed and walk to the recovery room.....totally an experience I will never ever forget. Ok, now I am done as I do have more but this will suffice.
