Tonja's Story

Since 1972? Wow!! Long time ago. I was married to Paul(Goodalf)Osipower (Corky) one of our classmates for 17 years, we had two beautiful daughters. Jaime and Sara. Both of them now work for our school system. I remarried in 1990 to a guy from New York. Scott Marcelle. We became foster parents together and adopted our last foster child. What a great journey that has been, not to mention life lesson. So many little kids out there that need a home. It is very rewarding to be a foster parent. To know u are helping out not only this child, but our community. My PASSION in life are my pets. They consume most of my days. And I wouldnt have it any other way. I also do animal rescue. People with unwanted animals or animals they can no longer keep somehow find me. I take the animal into our home, take care of them, whatever their needs may be and then find them forever homes. It is not something I set out to do, just seems to have happened. My friends all say I was born to be a caregiver, whether it be animal or human. I am a hairdresser by profession. Did that for a long time. I worked for our school system for about 10 years too. Retired from that to be a stay at home mom with my youngest daughter. Best decision I ever made. ept for vacations. I love it here. Cant imagine living anywhere else. I love going to all the amusement parks. Even in the heat with all the crowds, I still go. My hero would be a lady that I worked with in the school system. Her name was Marie Carter. She passed away two years ago from Breast Cancer. She was the bravest person I have ever had the priviledge of knowing. I have learned alot from my kids. And I am still learning today. My daughters are my best friends. They taught me how to LOVE, LAUGH, and NOT TO SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF. They taught me how to keep an open mind, even in tough situations. They are still teaching me things today. My son has taught me about HUMAN NATURE, and GENETICS VS ENVIROMENT. And all kind of boy things. Like why it is fun to play with bugs, or how to hold a slimey fish. That it is fun to get tackeled even if it does hurt. And why you ride that skateboard knowing that you are going to bust your butt. My biggest surprise in life, not sure about that.. I have had several big surprises in my life.. so. I will just leave it at that. I would love to see my eight grade teacher Mr Thompson again. Why, because he was such a character, and a great teacher. He was strick, but fair. If I got one do-over, what would I have done differently? That's a tough question. I am not sure what it would be.
