Tony's Story
After Depauw, went to Florida Tech for an MS in Physics, but became a serious follower of Jesus about a week before starting. Thanks Rebecca (Wagner) Fox. Had always thought I'd like to teach, but never wanted to be poor. Deciding money suddenly didn't matter so much, and that I really wasn't in the mood for two more intensive years of study, I switched to Science Ed and just took the classes I needed to get certified.
Taught high school science and coached football, basketball & track for two years (1984-86) in Melbourne Florida.
Having decided that I wasn't a Florida...Expand for more
person and could teach in any fair sized city, I started thinking of moving north. It was then God tricked me into taking a youth pastor job. (Even less pay than teaching.) I did that for 20 years at the same church, taking on other associate pastor responsibilities along the way. I'm currently an associate pastor (not doing youth ministry) still at the same church.
In 1992 I married a wonderful woman named Rachel. She's an author now. We're still happily married, have no children, but many that feel like ours over the years. And I'm still here in Melbourne Florida.
