Update: I finally did sign up for classmates.com today 2/16/15 at 2am...Hey,my journey has taken a few turns over the years. I straightened out and moved to Utah in 1981. From 1982 to 1984 I lived in London, England as a missionary for the LDS Church. Upon returning to Provo, Utah I graduated Utah Valley University in 1985, headed over to Brigham Young University and graduated December 1987, and finished a Masters in August 1992 at University of Phoenix. My desire to be an author resulted in co-writing 3 books with a 4th one underway. I created Operation Just One Can advocacy effort in 2008. In fall 2011 I was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize amidst service on humanitarian terms in Afghanistan, Mexico, and ongoing service projects for the less fortunate here in Utah. was diagnosed with Stage 3 moderate cancer. Add in two surgeries for this, plus surgeries to remove appendix, a softball sized cyst growing next to my right kidney, then surgery to insert a pacemaker in my heart between November 2012 and October 2014. Yea, I think I skirted dying several times during this rather berserk chapter of Life. All things being equaled I had quit drinking, gave up smoking cigars, and stopped using recreational narcotics since October 1978 and I am STILL in the mode of abstaining from this. It has been 36 years and counting with the intention of not retrogressing is my goal. The Cancer diagnosis episode was pretty crazed. What was to have been a routine colonoscopy test evolved into waking up to a frantic doctor exclaiming I have cancer and he turned around and left. The first round of chemo and radiation over a span of 33 days resulted in me landing in the ER 5 different times. The 2nd round of chemo 8 months later resulted in two different hospital jaunts at 9 days each. . At one point white cell count dropped to a whopping 200 number. If cancer wasn't meant to kill me these treatments came pretty close. My take on Farmingdale High? Rarely has time passed without reflecting on how it could have been a good time if I gave it a chance. All I had to do was stick things out a bit more or put out a bit more effort and it would have been a much different outcome. I had to learn things the hard way to get some success to happen since graduation.
