JHS 145 with my gang, dennis,angel,pedro,david dawson, who drowned RIP. Gangs like the lil saigons, black spades, etc, remember the class rumbles? Ever wonder who set off the smoke bomb in the auditorium? remember being chased by the Morris brothers, you know what happened if they caught you crossing the quad or nothing better than having Mr. Goldman stick up for you, he would go to blows with them, well, he did for me. A great time in the best JHS in the bronx. Anyone remember the Dean from TAFT HS ANNEX 72-75. Mr. Colbert? He was looking for two boys who graffittied the hallway.. TORK and SHASTA... He came into the classroom to the one kid and scolded; "You TOR...Expand for more
K? (pronounced: tawk)" and the kid repled; "yea,....I Tork, you Tork, eveybody Talks.." or when terrence and I opened up a stink bomb in class to get us out of a test...(Laff my butt off) where has the time gone, kids? Hope all your dreams came true...william, terrence, nestor, Leon King, Aida, priscilla ortiz, roxanne, eileen, diana, jeanette, paula, edwin, gustavo, gladys, martha, the checas, iris, and evelyn...our school could have been a tv show.
Then I was shipped out to Tenafly H.S.
I was not prepared nor were they. From the S. Bronx gangs to Tenafly, H.S.
It was an intereting lesson for me and I think for those who befriended me too.
Much time in the cafeteria at the reserved table, recalling times in the Bronx and my first experience with institutional predjudice; and that was just the vice principal. Glad everyone is doing so well..it was a glorious summer.
