Tony's Story
Life
updated 1/2012- I joined the Army in November 1962, shortly after I decided that I was smarter than the professors at CCNY. I was stationed at Ft. Dix, NY, Fort Gordon, GA, Ft. Hood Texas (where I got married) and then went to Korea. After returning from Korea, I served my last few months at Ft. Totten NY, getting out of th Army in late 1965. After my discharge, I returned to Texas and have been there since. I have been married for 47 years. I have two children, a daughter, Tonia Marie, age 46 and a son, Christopher Neil, age 39. Both are married. I have three grandchildren. a grandson, Kyle Andrew(Tonia's son), age 18, a granddaughter, Veronica Lee( Tonia's again), age 15, and a granddaughter, Sophie Lauren(Christopher's...Expand for more
daughter), age 9 months. We live in Lufkin TX (East Texas)- the part covered in trees (yes, Texas has trees-not like you see on TV). I guess my daughter thought I was not too bad, coming from NY, so she married a young man from Brewster NY. Her husband, Steve Fender, work at the post office in Lufkin. Tonia is a housewife. Christopher works at Dallas for a large surveying firm. Chris married a young lady, Stacey, from Tyler TX. I retired from the Postal Service January 2001, after 37 years of federal service, most of which were as a Postmaster. After more or less depleting my bank account due to retirement travel, I started driving a school bus in 2010 (interesting, to say the least). Drop a line. I'd like to hear from anyone.
